Civil Aviation Manufacturing contributes greatly to the GDP and is expanding despite the global recession.

The Defense Logistics Agency- Aviation supports more than 1,300 major weapon systems as the military's primary source for more than 1.3 million repair parts and operating supply items. The DLA manages supply, storage, and distribution operations and depot-level reparable procurement operations. More than 444,000 of the items managed are aviation parts.

DLA Aviation manages supply, storage, and distribution operations alongside its military customers while the aviation supply chain has personnel at over a dozen stateside sites direclty supporting warfighters. DLA Aviation also operates the federal government's only industrial plant equipment facility at Navy Inventory Control Point Mechanicburg, PA.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division will be holding an Industry Day & Technology Showcase 2012 on Tuesday March 13, 2012 in Solomons, Maryland. The objective of this conference is to enhance NEWCAD-Industry collaboration in support of the Naval Aviation Warfighter by presenting potential contracting opportunities to our industry partners.

The agenda will include introductory presentations by VADM David Architzel, Commander, Naval Air Systems Command; RDML R.L. Mahr, Commander, NAWCAD; and Mr. Gary Kessler, Executive Director, NAWCAD. The NAWCAD competency leadership will present forecasted contracting opportunities for FY12, FY13 and FY14.

The conference will also feature and exhibit hall which will showcase NAWCAD’s Research and Development laboratories, as well as Test and Evaluation ranges/facilities. Representatives from selected labs, ranges and facilities will be available to discuss how companies can leverage NAWCAD’s unique capabilities. We are also pleased to release our new NAWCAD Patent Portfolio which highlights patents available for licensing and commercialization.

The conference is open to all industry representatives whose companies can provide products and services to NAWCAD. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Identification will be required at check-in.
